Science vs Commerce vs Humanities

Choose subjects through interests, evidence and options, rather than prestige.

Science explores natural systems and quantitative ideas; commerce explores organisations, finance and economic activity; humanities explores people, cultures and society. All can build valuable skills. Specific programmes may require particular subjects, so check eligibility before choosing.

Your next three steps

  1. Write down what you enjoy and what you want to learn.
  2. Compare at least three relevant programmes using official sources.
  3. Discuss your questions with a parent, teacher or qualified counsellor.

Use official sources

UGC for institution research and NTA for relevant examination notices. Admission rules can change. These guides do not provide verified current fees, dates or eligibility.
